Why are the average ranges for cars, electric (newer) or gas, always around 300–400 miles

Let’s look at the newest innovations in the auto industry.
The “New” Nissan Leaf can barely go 150 miles.
The 2018 Ford Focus can only go 100 miles before running out of battery.
The “completely new” 2018 Honda Clarity Electric can only go 89 miles.
In fact, there are only three electric cars able to drive more than 300 miles. The only electric vehicles able to drive farther than 300 miles are the:
  • Tesla Model X (300 miles)
  • Tesla Model 3 (310 miles)
  • Tesla Model S (335 miles)
Why are the average ranges for electric (newer) cars always around 300–400 miles?
The average is not always around 300–400.
No EV producer besides Tesla can figure out how to get a 300 mile range in production.
